My first movie was Walt Disney's Bambi. I was 3 years old. It touched my heart so much. Of course, when Bambi

There are these creepy creatures around my neighborhood. I was under the impression that they were vultures. Hubby told me that they couldn't be vultures, as vultures don't live in the east, only in the west. He said that they were ravens. It made sense, after all Edgar Allan Poe, who lived not far from us, wrote about the raven in his poem, The Raven.
A few weeks ago, I took my first set of photos of these creatures. That shot actually won an award in my camera club photo contest, and the judge called them buzzards.
Today, I went out and took more pictures. I found them nesting on a tree next to my neighbor’s house. As she and I are not in good terms (due to my son parking in front of her window and she was sick and tired of looking at this Lexus, our relationship deteriorated. You can read about it here: http://spicedogs.livejournal.com/307597.html), I tried not to get too close to her house. But once again, the desire for the photo overcame the desire not to make waves. Luckily, she didn’t say anything about my trespassing her property. Maybe she thought that I was taking pictures to have the human society come and take the birds away from our yards. Anyway, as I approached her back yard, I found out that the birds were in another property, in another street, directly behind our house. So I drove there and approached the birds as close as they would let me. Once I came home and converted the RAW pictures into JPG, I found that, indeed, they are vultures, or buzzards.

Photo Competition and Photo Trickery
Nov. 14th, 2008 11:15 pmIt's that time again. My camera club will have another competition on November 24. As I am undergoing surgery next week, I have to start thinking today about which photos I would like to enter. I can enter a total of five photos: two digital and three actual photos.
( Here are the photos that I am thinking of entering. )

I spent my day working in the house, getting rid of clutter, taking mom food shopping, and, in the late afternoon taking pictures.

It's a known fact that I love miso soup. Ambereen and Ethan surprised me with a gift of ready-made miso soup. I cut some green onions and added cubed tofu to the water, boiled it, and then added the powder. I had no idea that the powder already had my ingredients in it. It didn't matter, I love it. It was nice to have a lot of tofu in it.[Poll #1281516][Poll #1281516]

Heck, there’s so much to learn about the camera and how to use it. I look at the camera and my thoughts scream at it, “Is there a school out there that can teach me how to use you?”
I take a deep breath. “Give it time,” a small voice in my head soothingly whispers to me, “give it time. Look where you are with Photoshop. Give it time.” And I will give it time. Till then, here’s what I have produced so far:( Till then, here’s what I have produced so far: )
