In a recent interview with SciFiWire, Daniel Dae Kim, known to LOST Fans as Jin-Soo Kwon, revealed that the tone of LOST will lighten a bit.

LOST, which is an ensemble show, deviated from its format during the beginning of Season 3. The initial six episodes focused primarily on the three characters (Jack, Kate, and Sawyer) that were held hostage by The Others.

According to Daniel, LOST, which will resume on February 7, 2007, with 16 uninterrupted episodes, will once again focus on the entire cast. In addition, he informed SciFiWire that Jin will be communicating in English now, not just in Korean (as he did in past episodes), thus, enabling Jin to interact with the other castaways and be involved with the main action of the island.

The overall tone of the series will also lighten particularly when it comes to the rocky relationship between Jun and his wife Sun (played by Yunjin Kim).

"Everyone talks about the island having redemptive qualities," he said. "And I think it was redemptive for their relationship as well. As far as where their relationship goes from here, I'm curious to see myself. I'm sure a baby will change our dynamic. It generally does. We've already shot a few things where it's lighter. It's a different kind of feel to a scene with Jin in it. It's a welcome change."

Daniel Dae Kim expressed the concern that the actors feel about the constant looming over their character’s possible death. LOST has an impressive reputation for killing characters. Some fans, according to the SciFiWire article, watch the show to see who will die next.

"Our show for some reason has taken on this mystery of who's going to die next," he said, "and I'm not sure how that happened or why it's happening. And I'm hoping that it doesn't become the main focus of what the audience is looking for."

I don’t know about anybody else, but I don’t watch LOST to see who will die next. In fact, I hope that the ensemble would remain as it stands now. I would have loved to have learned Colleen’s back story, for example. But, I know, it is only a dream. And, besides, the show must go on.
