Today, while in Omaha, I had to say good-bye to my dog Zack Curry. He was diagnosed with cancer of the spleen. I left the house with a healthy dog, only to get a phone call from my husband at about 5 pm that Zack was listless and not eating. (This dog was always hungry.) Hubby took him to the vet. Diagnosis: untreatable cancer. He was euthanized because he was in dire pain.

Hug your pets today.

I don't even know what to think or feel right now. He was my "first" -- foster that is. It was tough letting him go even though it was only down the road! I know he had a very happy and loving life and will always be looking over you. The circle of life continues -- a big congrats on the two legger that will join the spices next year!

Big Hugs and Slurps,

Holly and The Hounds -- Princess Juliet the Magnificent, Quincey Magoo and Alexis T. Wigglebutt (another foster failure!)

Holly, it is so nice to hear from you. Yes, it was so difficult to let him go back to you. So we kept him. I was so glad that he came to our house. If you recall, he did go to another home a week or two earlier, but they returned him. He was too much of a pistol—and he was. But you know we loved him. He was my first velcro dog. Thank you for fostering him and making sure that he was going to get the best of care. If it weren't for you and BROOD, he would not have seen more than the first 7 months of his life. You and and that healing blanket did the trick.
