Since the Others have a habit of calling people by their last name (PIcket, Shepherd, Austen, Ford), could we be looking at Jacob?

It could be but I don't think they would reveal who Jacob is this early. Also, when Ben was Henry in the cell, didn't he say "He's a powerful man." Implying the he's a him. Good theory though!
