09:29 At hospital, but they won't let me in till 10:30 b/c of doc rounds. They say she's disoriented & still v. sleepy, but not psychotic. (cont) #

09:30 Anxious to go see her. ICU psychosis is more of a nighttime thing, but I'm still concerned that she won't fully wake. (cont) #

09:31 Respiratory therapist who helped extubate happened to walk by & assured me he's seen this before, but I won't feel better till Mom's back. #

09:46 @goodthingscomin No, but good point! Now she's off vent, maybe she can leave ICU soonish, which will help w/ ICU psychosis syndrome. #

11:04 In the room w/ her now, but she's sleeping. Looks like a more normal, less druggy sleep than yesterday. Waiting patiently for her to wake. #

11:05 Her numbers look good, tho. Thanks again to everyone for the support & words of encouragement. #

12:04 She's awake, alert, and herself. What a relief!!!!!! #

23:46 Roller coaster day. She was great most of the day, but ICU psychosis hit again in late afternoon, which is typical for the condition. (cont) #

23:47 Luckily, meds remedied it, and Dad & I spent very quality time with her until past 10 pm. We will be there all day tomorrow, from 7:30 am. #

23:48 Also, docs have a new theory: Viral myocarditis (heart virus) caused sudden-onset cardiac heart failure, which led to lung issues. #

23:48 But she's definitely much improved and recovered. Maybe 1 more week in hospital and possible short stint in rehab for fine motor skills. #

23:49 Very much looking forward to being with her tomorrow. Thanks again for all the support. I'm very exhausted, but relieved. #

I'm relieved that they identified the problem and that they finally take you guys seriously!
On the way to recovery now. I can't wait to hear the really good news about you being home Edith.
