My thoughts as I watched The Life and death of Jeremy Bentham

  1. The suspicious man on the plane
  2. Old gun
  3. The woman who arrested Sayid.
  4. He took the gun and gave her a flashlight instead.
  5. Standing in the water. Is Locke compared to Jesus?
  6. Plane crash?
  7. John Locke?
  8. WTF?
  9. I get it. This is after the crash. Locke is alive on the island.
  10. Pilot is alive and took the boat.
  11. Caesar has the passenger list.
  12. Walt is on the credits.
  13. Locke remembers dying.

Flashback.

1.      John moves the island.

2.      Locke finds himself in the desert. Same reenactment that Ben went through (wound, vomit, etc)

3.       Locke is being filmed

4.      Car almost runs him over.

5.      Why Tunisia?

6.      Abbadon!!

7.      Oh shit this is awful.  No surgery or anything to fix a compound fracture.

8.      Widmore

9.      Widmore? A good guy? Ben exiled Widmmore.

10.  War is about to happen. John holds the key for the right people to win the war.

11.  Widmore names him Jeremy Bentham. Canadian. #23

12.  Widmore watched the Oceanic 6

13.  John is special

New life

  1. Why Santo Domingo?
  2. Sayid is in Santo Domingo
  3. Sayid is building a school for the church
  4. Helen
  5. Walt
  6. Does Walt need to go back?
  7. Ben

With Hugo

  1. Why is Hugo thinking that Locke died?
  2. Hugo is nuts

Abandon

  1. Walkabout was suggested by Abandon. He is a guide to the island.

Kate

  1. No

Helen

  1. She died
  2. Predestination? Calvinism in a Catholic environment?
  3. Mathew is killed. (Ben?)
  4. Locke in a car accident.

Hospital

  1. Jack is his doctor
  2. Jack is high.
  3. Jack is a bitch.
  4. How did he know that Christian is his father?
  5. Good deduction skills, John
  6. Ah, the suicide letter.

Food for thought, John broke his leg because he was not supposed to be able to walk outside of the island.

  1. Suicide by hanging.
  2. Who’s knocking? Ben
  3. He is keeping all of the 06 safe.
  4. Ben wants Locke to lead?
  5. Is Ben lying?
  6. This is occurring during the time the last episode of Season 4 was on.
  7. Ben you are conniver.
  8. OMG, Ben killed John.
  9. Is Ben evil?

Back to present island.

  1. Ben!
  1.

Standing in the water. Is Locke compared to Jesus?

Oh, I didn't think of that! Good observation :)

My opinion: John is John the Baptist ... preparing the way for ??? Aaron maybe? (And, if so, who does that make Ben?)

"Food for thought, John broke his leg because he was not supposed to be able to walk outside of the island."

Wow, good observation! Makes sense.

No way is Ben evil. (Don't bother me with the facts; my mind's already made up.)

BTW, I posted my own semi-running commentary in my journal.

John ain't Jesus. Jesus wasn't "amenable to coercion." Poor SOB is being worked over by evil masterminds until it's no wonder he can't think straight. Also, every "leadership" test he's given he either fails or cheats on (or is cheated for). He's not the One to lead anybody, I don't think. He's undeniably very "special", just not in the way he thinks he is. He wants it too badly, hence he's easy for other people to manipulate.

That setting of his leg was hella harrowing. Jeez, poor John.

Hugo thinks Locke is dead, because he's been visited by Charlie (and it's implied Eko too), so it makes sense that he thinks that anyone from his island past who is not one of the O6 is dead.

Jack is high and a bitch in that scene. You left out "bearded" and "cruel." Also "terrified." I've been wanting the scene when Locke tells him he saw his father, and it did not disappoint. At. All. Even better that he told him that Christian was actually calling the shots on the Island. It's the thing that causes Jack to crack up. There's a nice symmetry too, in the fact that Jack and Locke basically drove each other to suicide. I love those two together. Pure gold.

Where was the "because you left" statement and all of that stuff? They named an episode after it, after all. Someone dropped the ball continuity-wise, big time.

Food for thought, John broke his leg because he was not supposed to be able to walk outside of the island.

Good catch on his not being able to walk off the island!

Yes, Ben is evil. He also sometimes acts for the greater good. Ah, the wonder that is Ben.

I'm wondering how "hurt" our Ben really is. It's quite possible he's orchestrating that, too...:)

I was totally disappointed when Ben...killed...
But whatever he does, I love him. More and more.

15.Is Ben evil?
No. He just knows what to do. He always has a plan.
