spicedogs: (Obama2)

I came home early and voted. It was a smart move. When we got to the polling place, there was a handful of people there. We got on line and voted. Took few minutes. The most that I spent was helping my mom vote. She doesn't speak much English, is hard of hearing, and is 92 years old. I always get to be her helper.

I voted for Obama and took a picture of my ballot:

I live in a Democratic state, but my town is very Republican. Sadly, I found this truck parked right in front of the no-campaign zone. Technically, it was not breaking the law. However, this just shows the mentality of the majority of the people who live in my neighborhood. I am ashamed to be their neighbor. (I usually block the license plates of vehicles that I photograph. I don't exercise that courtesy here.)

I hope that Obama wins. That's all.

The scary thing is that these people's votes count just as much as any rational voter. I have plenty of friends and family members who supported McCain, but they did so for rational reasons. I don't begrudge them that (although I tried hard to talk some of them out of it). I just hate the idiocy of people who actually believe this b.s. (at least I think it's b.s. -- I have to just guess what it means since it really isn't a frickin' SENTENCE!).

Go Barack!!! Alas, I don't think he will win Missouri although we tried hard. But then I live in a county where we don't have flouride in our water becaus it is just too newfangled for people. Guh.
