2012 Olympic Logo

Over at divka's journal, we discussed the merits of the design of  2012 Olympic Logo. I am interested in seeing what my f-list thinks. What do you think? Yay or nay?

You said it's supposed to be the letters U and K. While I can see the K, I can't see the U at all. London looks like it's written on an L.

Sophie, you are a genius. I kept seeing the K on the bottom and thought that that the top was a funny U. Of course, it's 2012. I like it now even more.

I'm not thrilled with the design because I don't find it inspiring, and I think the Olympics should inspire on all levels. Smaller, I like it more... maybe seeing it from a distance helps. I don't hate it, but something feels awkward about it.

The thing on the right is knelt down, quite obviously... sucking the thing on the left.

At first I thought it was two people... bending over, but now I see it's supposed to be 2012. Oh, geez. It looks like a 80's art deco reject. All you need is a black and white checkerboard and Debbie Gibson.
