My childhood best friend is very ill

I am so sad. I just finished talking to my childhood best friend. She is currently in the hospital fighting for her life. She has been battling non-Hodgkin's lymphoma for over 20 years. I am afraid that the disease is taking its toll on her body. They removed fluid from around her heart, she may be having pneumonia, and she will undergo a painful procedure tomorrow. I hope that she regains her strength and is able to fight for her life, as she has been doing these past 20 years.

I hope that this time, it will be fair. I would like her to be at my son's wedding. We actually made a pact to reach 75. I hope that she can make her end of the bargain.
