After months of radio silence and good behavior, another actor from LOST is in trouble with the law: Daniel Dae Kim, who plays Jin-Soo Kwon. Does that mean that we will soon say good-bye to Jin?
Jin was a disliked character in Season 1, but fans slowly learned to love him in Season 2 and 3. The actor, who was not comfortably fluent in Korean had to say all his lines in Korean for the first two seasons and part of Season 3. As Season 3 unfolded, Jin was just learning enough English to start conversing with the other characters.

Details of his DUI arrest haven't been released yet, but police said he was arrested around 3 a.m. He was booked at the Honolulu Police station downtown, posted bail and was released at 5:05 a.m.
Kim didn't say anything as he left the station. He was escorted by two police officers to a silver SUV that was waiting for him just outside the police station's receiving area.
Wearing a polo shirt, khaki shorts and his hair grown out, Kim kept his head down as he brushed past media, stepping into the front passenger's side of the SUV, which quickly whisked him away.
Other "Lost" members have had legal problems here.
Former cast members Michelle Rodriguez and Cynthia Watros were arrested on suspicion of drunken driving on Dec. 1, 2005 when police spotted their vehicles weaving along Pali Highway.
Both pleaded guilty, and both were gone from the show by season's end.
On Sept. 2, 2006, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje ("Mr. Eko") was arrested and accused of disobeying a police officer and driving without a license.
The charges were later dropped when Akinnuoye-Agbaje provided proof that he possessed a license. His character was killed off by a smoke monster in the first half of that season.

What is MADD Edith? Is it an American association of some sort about drunk driving? I don't think I have heard of it in the UK!

Date: 2007-10-25 09:55 pm (UTC)It was organized by a woman who lost her child to a drunk driver. Thanks to her arduous work, more and more people are aware of this problem. We still have quite a bit to go.
I would be even more respectful of the producers of LOST if they were to come out and say that they do not approve of this type of behavior.

Date: 2007-10-26 12:32 pm (UTC)The unfortunate thing is that this sort of problem will never ever just go away. Some people are just to plain selfish or just don't give a shit.
I hope MADD continues to work hard to re educate people in their thinking and habits. Even if it is not a problem that can eradicated completely - every one person that does change their habits due to MADD - is one less potential injury or fatality.

I completely agree - in fact many people would be more impressed with them if they did. There should be no reason why they shouldn't! Everyone should know that their actions have consequences - including celebrities.
