Every Man for Himself

spicedogsI know that LOST has quite a bit of violence, but this episode really pushed it. Sawyer was so beaten, poor guy. Ben shook a bunny and pretended that it died.
I love Henry/Ben character, but when he was shaking that poor animal, I wanted to grab it out of his hands, slap him in the face, and put some sense into his head. Funny thing is that I didn't mind poor Sawyer being beaten up so much. The bunny was too much. Maybe it's the animal lover in me. But I think Sawyer, as a human being, has the ability to defend himself. A bunny is like a child, harming them should be off limit. I was glad to see that the bunny was not harmed (unlike the tree frog). Or was he not harmed? Ben could have painted an 8 on another bunny, just to prove his innocence.
I know, I know, the writers want to show us how far The Others will go to torture our friends,. But, man, they sure went too far in my opinion. I don't know how they expect us to do a 180 degree turn and start liking the Others and disliking the Losties. Except for Ben and Juliet, I don't care about The Others.
Speaking of Ben, Michael Emerson never ceases to amaze me. He is such a great actor. I got goose pumps when I heard him reciting the passages from Of Mice and Men. What a performer. I wish I could see him on stage. I bet you he is just dynamite. Maybe one day he will be on Broadway, and, hopefully, I'll manage to go.
Michael Emerson claims to be a comedian. So far, I have not seen any of his comedic work. I wonder if anybody knows about any DVDs out there showcasing Michael's comedic talent. I can see that he probably has the talent for comedy. Comedy requires great timing, flexibility of body movements, ability to make facial expressions. Those characteristics were evident in Michael's portrayal of Henry Gale in Season 2. I can't forget the expression in his face when he said the line "You guys got any milk?" Brilliant. I was laughing like the dickens. I was even inspired to make these posters:
