Now I don't know what it is like to be a megastar. Heck, I don't even know what it is like to be a star. But I know how not to behave,  no matter how mad I am. Evangeline Lilly is supposed to know how to behave, but I guess when you are a megastar, you can forget your manners:

 I know that it must be hard having papparazzi around you all the time. But that's the price you pay for the $$$ money you make. Evie you accepted the job of an actress. There are lots of perks and some downs. It's about time for you to learn to accept the downs with grace.

On the other hand, the Papparazi are real asses. Forget normal fans that just want a pic of a famous star. I mean, the P get right up in people's faces and it verges on harassment. Look what they did to Princess Di. People might be famous, but they still dserve to be treated with respect. No, maybe Evi shouldn't have flipped them off, but I'm not sure I really blame her.

Come on -- I dont blame her at all. She has a right to tell those people to leave her the hell alone. She gets violated like that on a daily basis and its totally unfair.

Also, are you sure she didn't do that as a joke?

Oh, I think that she has plenty to be angry about. I just think that flipping them off just makes them go after her even more.

Like many celebrities, she uses the paparazzi when it suits her and then complains about the attention when she's not in the mood. She can't have it both ways.

If she didn't want the attention then she should have maintained a low profile from day 1. There are actors who are much bigger than Evie who manage to do that, but once you start using the press then you're fair game.

Can you imagine Michael Emerson or Terry doing that? But it doesn't matter anyway. Some stars who are notoriously 'difficult' - Russell Crowe for example - actually have talent to back it up. No one is going to remember Evie. At least that's my feeling.

What bothers me is that since she landed this role, she has seemingly turned her back on everything she used to be and believe. This was a woman whose faith was so strong that she wanted to go into full-time missions, and had spent time doing things of that nature. Land a fancy acting gig, and she suddenly starts displaying a very dirty mouth (according to Dom), flipping people off when she feels like it, acting like a diva. Maybe all of that in her old life wasn't genuine and was simply hyped up in the media. But I still think it's sad.

Sorry, this is the behavior of a 14-year-old, not a 27-year-old. I'm sure her life in public eye isn't easy, but if she really doesn't like it, she's gotta come to terms with it or get out. I just read a quote from Angelina Jolie, (whose had her own particular infamous public displays), and she has certainly been pursued by the paparazzi at a level that would made Evie look like she's being ignored. I can't recall what she said verbatim but basically she said she understands that the media attention she gets is due to her success as an actress and that she knows the celebrity business comes with the job and that she is all in all lucky. And she knows her success is letting her do her humanitarian work. Say what you will about stars showing up at U.N. aid stations for a celebrity moment, but she is at least trying to make a difference. Beats the heck outta making obscene gestures at a photographer.
