I think it was Larry Niven or Norman Spinrad who pointed out in a story that Superman's sperm would most likely kill a human mate like Lois Lane. Here we have a variation on that theme. If every season equals a month and they have 5 seasons planned then what happens with Sun's pregnancy might be part of the climax of the show's ending.
