I don't see anything wrong with refusing to tell fibs to your kids.

When I was a young'un I was all about Santa until I was 6 or so until my stoopid brother (who was 16 at the time) decided it was time to tell me the truth.

We were backing out of the driveway at the time. I remember it as plain as day. It was very traumatic and upset me for many days. I think my dad bitchslapped my brother but that was pointless...the genie was out of the bottle.

On the other hand, my 7-year-old niece seems to be wise to the whole thing. She was opening a present for Christmas and the husband asked her where she got it and she said "well, it's supposed to be from Santa but really it's from my mom." LOL
