Screenings of Keillor film planned
May. 16th, 2008 09:14 pmLANESBORO -- A sneak preview of a new documentary film about Garrison Keillor will be shown in Lanesboro June 7-8.
The film, "Garrison Keiller: The Man on the Radio in the Red Tennis Shoes," by Peter Rosen, of New York, includes footage from Keillor's "A Prairie Home Companion" radio program last June at Lanesboro's ballfield. Rosen will be in Lanesboro to show and talk about the film at 7:30 p.m. June 7 at the St. Mane Theatre. Tickets for that event are $10.
In addition, the film will be screened at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. June 7, and at 1 p.m. June 8, all at the St. Mane. Tickets for those showings are $5.
The film is scheduled to be shown at a later date on the PBS series "American Masters."
Tickets are available at the Cornucopia Art Center, 103 Parkway Ave. N. in Lanesboro, and by phone at (507) 467-2446. Any remaining tickets will be sold at the door of the St. Mane before each screening.
