Michael Emerson in his first TV gig

Michael Emerson's first TV gig was a made-for-TV movie called Orpheus Descending. It was really a reenactment of Tennessee Williams' play, starring Vanessa Redgrave. Michael had a really small part. He played a clown. You cannot see him, but his voice is very pronounced.  Enjoy....

taken out of context this is just the wierdest thing I have ever seen. The fact that I know that is our Mr. Emerson screaming in the background just made me laugh so hard!
Thanks for this!

My sentiments exactly. It's most bizarre. And Michael, well, he can be a clown in the background and he'll steal the scene.

You are so right about him stealing the scene. He certainly does.

Isn't it weird. It is a Tennessee Williams play. It was a bizarre and gruesome play. But it was funny to see Michael in a clown suit.

Oh my, this is strange. I tried to understand what they were saying, but couldn't get all of it...

Vanessa has an Italian-Southern accent. The Southern accent is equivalent to Brazilian's nordestinos. They are, at times, difficult to understand. Don't worry about the dialogue. It was not important. This is just to showcase Michael Emerson's first Television show.

Oh, that's why i couldn't figure out what she was saying, LOL!
But, you're right, we can distinguish his voice very well on the background.

I don't do clowns, but I'd MOST DEFINATELY DO that one LOL

Michael has the most wonderful voice, arms and well just everything, even in a clown suit.

One question, WTF was going on in that play? It seems really abstract (Google's it to find out more)

I bet he knows how to throw shapes on the dancefloor with that sexy little jig ROFL

Thanks Edith for finding this, it was great to see his first tv appearance
