I set it to record, and then when I watched it, with all this hope in my heart for some nice, juicy Michael, and then he's just the tipsy guy at the piano bar? I was so sad! thank you for posting this though, much easier to watch over and over this way! And he did look adorable :)

I felt the same way. It was awful. Of course, back then, they didn't realize what a gold mine they had in their hands. This was, from what I can tell, his first TV show.

It boggles my mind how some not-so-talented actors become famous practically overnight and this ubertalented man is ignored. If it weren't for LOST, he'd be still struggling. Unbelievable.

I had recorded this on my DVR months ago and I FF'd through it--I literally missed Michael's little appearance, thanks for posting that!

Michael looks lovely there, love the black shirt/brown jacket combo.

I love his hair here. I am not a fan of the spiked thing.

"Somethin' to celebrate?" The way he said that - Ben all the way. *shiver*

Well, thank goodness, he is finally getting his moment. I shall be forever grateful to the writers of the LO:CI (I think it is) for casting him as William Hinks and then giving him some extra time eps because they liked him so much. Sounds like he inspired the writers to take that storyline a little farther than planned. Much like "Lost" seems to have done, hmmm.

It is a sad fact of life, not just acting, that too often the unworthy advance while some truly talented people struggle. But sometimes, one of them breaks through.

I think he more than other actors needs good writing to really bring what out he has. I can't imagine where "Lost" would be without the Ben we know. Surely, there would have been one but not being this Ben, they might have taken the show in an entirely different direction. I am so convinced they do things just to get him on screen sometimes. Not that I'm complaining.
