Walters "Quite Happy" with Her Rosie-less View; O'Donnell Responds

While admitting, "It's very hard for anyone to follow Rosie," boss woman Barbara Walters says she is rather pleased with The View's performance since O'Donnell's famous walkout. "There are things we've been able to discuss that we weren't able to discuss with Rosie, like heterosexual sex," Walters told Wednesday's On-Air with Ryan Seacrest radio show. "We are perhaps not quite as political [or] vocal about [things], but the Hot Topics have been very fun, and the ratings are up, so we're quite happy. Obviously, the audience is very loyal."

As for replacing Rosie (or Star, for that matter) Walters said, "We're kind of taking our time," but confirmed that Whoopi Goldberg" is someone we're considering. Whoopi is wonderful."

On the topic of her unsolicited phone chat with Paris Hilton — Walters was on the horn with Kathy Hilton when Paris beeped in via call waiting, then asked her mom to put her on with the newswoman — Babs denies angling for the first sitdown with the jailed heiress: "I'm telling you the truth, I have not discussed with her doing an interview."

UPDATE: Asked to respond to Walters' comments, namely the bit about hetero sex, Rosie told a reader on her blog, "She is almost 80."

I used to really like Rosie, but I've lost a lot of respect for her, since she was on The View. Too bad. Whoopie would be great.

I agree with you. I really liked Rosie when she had her own show. She became very confrontational on The View.

I don't mind some confrontation, but she really did treat Elizabeth like crap. I certainly didn't agree with E on most points, but she deserved more respect than that.

That's exactly what happened. Elizabeth's views and mine don't mesh, but you have to treat a person with respect. Rosie did not. She forgot to leave her personal feelings out of the show.

I know, it's too bad.

By the way, do you know how to delete a subforum on the boards?

[identity profile] spicedogs.livejournal.com 2007-06-15 02:31 pm (UTC)(link)
You made one that you didn't want to keep?

Go to :: Administration Area :: Delete Board

Select the board name that your subboard is in and press continue. You will be asked

The board you have selected to delete contains 1 or more sub-boards. If you choose to delete this board, all sub-boards will be deleted along with it. If you only wish to delete a sub-board, select that board from the list below.

Does this help?

But I'm not given that option. We have a catogory titled "General." It includes "Announcements," "The Parlor", "General Board," etc... Under "General Board," there's a subboard for "The Parlor". I don't want the subboard with that same name, but can't seem to figure out how to get rid of it. If you think you can figure it out, I'll gladly add you to the admin list.

I can try, that's all I can say. I'm usually quite savy with computer stuff.
