A Little Pleasure to a Sick Woman (Take Sick to Mean Both Ways)

I just bought tickets to the see A Prairie Home Companion (APHC) at the Filene Center at Wolf Trap (virtual tour) on May 22 and May 23, 2009. Ticket sale started today at noon. I was logged in exactly at noon. The best tickets that I could get were as follows:

Side left, row U on Friday, Loge (upper balcony) on Sunday.

Then I had an epiphany. I looked again and found orchestra pit (much more expensive), second row. Cool. I am selling the Loge seats. There are four of them. If anybody is interested, contact me. Otherwise, I'll sell them closer to the date of the show: May 23, 2009.

Here's what the seating arrangements look like:

Here's my view on Friday:

Here's the view from the Loge:

And here's an approximate view that I'll have on Saturday:

I will be way closer. Right at the pit. The last time I sat in the pit was for a Harry Connick, Jr. concert. We could see the sweat drop off his face, that's how close the seats are. This should be interesting. The best seat I ever had was my very first APHC viewing in 2002. I sat in the third row, dead center.

So, I am so excited about this opportunity that I forgot that my face is in pain. LOL. So GK has a purpose after all.

Glad you're feeling well enough to post. Thank goodness for GK! (BTW, I haven't had much time to comment lately, but I've been enjoying your GK posts; I'd heard of him of course, but never heard his work before. You could be making a fan of me. All except for the snow thing--I'm totally with you!)

Ah, GK ought to pay me for bringing him more fans. Good tickets for his show and backstage passes would be a great payment. LOL

Wow, good work with the tickets. I hope you enjoy the show! :)

Sounds like you have great seats.
Hope you enjoy the show.

I'm planning on going to see A Prairie Home Companion at the Fitzgerald theater sometime in the near future. I hope I can get good seats. (and that they're not too pricy.)

OMG, seeing it at the Fitzgerald Theatre is the most awesome thing. I believe that the tickets are not that pricey. I paid under $60.00 for the regular seats, but $85.00 for the pit(each).

Awesome seats! So, you're going twice. Wow. How much did you dish out for those and how did you manage to go from such lousy seats to such good ones?

I'll have to print out the pic of me with GK and see if you can get it autographed for me. :D

Yep. I went once to the Friday night performance and it is a different feeling. They are rehearsing the show and it is lot looser. The audience becomes a guinea pig as to what will work and what will not. Sometimes, he even lets it go over the 2 hours allotted for the show. On Saturday, the show is tighter and more refined. And he tends to sign autographs more on Saturday than on Sunday. I guess there are parties to attend on Friday and rewrites and all.

Will you be able to attend the Friday parties?
