Damn

So... Six years in a row, I have missed a chance to see Garrison Keillor or "A Prairie Home Companion." He finally comes to Baltimore at The Meyerhoff Center, a beautiful symphony hall. I went there and saw a number of different performances. I even saw him doing a solo concert there. He is now doing a lecture. For the folks who don't know his work, let me tell you that the man is funny, witty, entertaining, and smart. But the lecture series costs $269.00—$365.00 per person. Not affordable.

Today, I found out that he will be part of  the UC Santa Cruz Arts and Lecture series for 2008—09. He will be there on May 13. My birthday. But alas, the flight alone will be very high, add hotel room, and train fare for hubby (he doesn't fly), I'd be paying a lot more than $365.00 per person.

Well,  once again, not affordable.

*sigh*

Wow. That is one pricey lecture. I'm sorry :(

Wow, that's so expensive! My friend in Boston likes that person (I've never heard of him) and he went to see him a few weeks ago and came back saying he was brilliant! :)

I feel your traveling price woes.
